With a solid foundation of knowledge in place, our students move into a new stage where nurturing and inspiring a love of learning becomes essential. At this stage, teachers guide students to become independent learners, gradually encouraging them to take responsibility for their own educational journey.
We believe that the development achieved during this stage is an essential foundation for each student's personal and academic future, enabling them to become responsible, independent, and self-reliant adults who are prepared to recognise and overcome the challenges that are part of their growth.
We foster the development of critical thinking, encouraging students to evaluate different situations thoughtfully and to exercise responsible freedom, always grounded in respect for others.
Recognising that this is the stage of life when students develop a deeper and more critical awareness of the world and society, we promote education for justice and service, enabling them to become responsible members of society who are committed to the well-being of others.
The curriculum for this stage includes Drama as part of the Arts Enrichment Programme, reflecting the School’s strong commitment to this area, as it plays a vital role in students’ personal and social development.
In Lower Secondary School, students also have English Study Support sessions, designed to strengthen their spoken English skills—an essential aspect of learning a foreign language. Students are invited to attend these sessions by their English teacher.
Lower Secondary School classes also have a weekly Citizenship and Personal Development lesson, taught by the Form Tutor. This subject aims to develop the skills needed for active citizenship, democratic participation, collaboration, and thoughtful discussion of contemporary issues.
